Just Plain Crazy!

I need catch up on my blog posts! The last few days have been a little crazy!
Saturday night we decided to take our folks down town to bourbon street. Before we got there we saw the craziest thing, a wedding march!!
These people were marching down Canal Street which is one of the busiest street in New Orleans! They had a jazz band playing music, clowns on stilts, every person had a New Orleans mask to hide their faces, and they were not just walking, they were dancing down the street! It was Just Plain Crazy!
I stopped to take a picture of the famous Bourbon Street sign. We had made plans to eat at the Acme Oyster House, which was featured on food network, but the line to even get in was way down the block!
So instead we ate at another restaurant that was very nice, but I can't remember its name.
After we ate bourbon street was really picking up. It was Just Plain Crazy! My dad put it best into words, "This is the most Evil place I have ever been too!" I don't want to get into to much detail because I have kids that read this blog. Put it this way, it so was ridiculous that I can not post a single picture that I took on here!

On Sunday morning we woke up and went down to the French Market to eat breakfast. I love the French Market! You can buy just about any kind of trinket you can think of here from all kinds of different vendors.

Gary really liked playing with the masks in this store!

I like this one for Christi! I think it suits her!

My mom had to try one on!

After walking around we decided to head back to the apartment. They had a LONG drive back home to Georgia. We said our goodbys and believe it or not, I did not cry. I admit I had a very strong sad felling in the pit of my stomach. (I have always been a home body and I actually LIKE spending time with my parents)

As I watched them leave and their car roll down the street a thought came to me.

"Well, this is it. So far everything in my life has lead to this exact moment. From growing up being a daddy's girl, being a member at Friendship, marrying Chris, graduating college; everything has been God preparing me for this moment."

They drove off, and I had an extreme calming peace. This is where the Lord has called us, and I am going to Cherish every moment of it!

Tour of our Crib

Welcome! Come on In! Lets take a tour of the apartment. This is me coming in through the door. (Please ignore the moving boxes that we stashed in the corner!)

This is the view from the doorway when you first walk in.

You can see we have absolutely beautiful hardwood floors!

This is the living room. Chris is Lounging in his chair.

The dinning room table. We had not hung up all our pictures yet because we have to hang everything with Command hooks. We were letting the command strips dry on this picture on the dinning room table.

Ignore the mess we were still un packing. You can see that we have window units. They actually work pretty good!

Our sweet and bright bathroom!

Close up of the shower curtain! I absolutely loved this one from target!

Chris and I being goofy!

Uhhh Ohh! You caught be in the shower:)

The bedroom! I love the rug that I bought for in here. Again you can see another wall unit! Last night I actually got kind of cold with this thing running on low.

Our kitchen is kind of small, but for its size it sure does have a lot of cabinets!

Me pretending to cook something on our gas stove!

Chris's office!

This is the whole reason why we came to Seminary right here. So Chris can study.

Ok so now you have taken the grand tour. Now its time for all of yall to get your bottoms down here to visit!

We Made It!

Well, it seems like we have been talkin about it forever, but...
We FINALLY MADE IT!!

Friday Chris and I spent all day packing up boxes and getting last minnute things together. It was such a beautiful day, a little overcast but not too hot.
Then 5:00 hit!!
We had planned on loading the trailor and cars with all the boxes and stuff at 6:00. It was pouring!!

This picture it of Chris and Gary carrying what has to be the heaviest sofa in the world!

While the boys were loading all the heavy stuff my mom and I 'supervised' I was walking around with a towel to dry off stuff from the rain and decided to make it into a turban to keep my hair dry instead! We were laughin so hard!
The boys didnt seem to think it was all the funny, I wonder why not!!

This is the sweet trailor Chris and I have called home for the last year! Yeah it is not the prettiest thing on the outside, but man we made it so cute on the inside! We loved the yard! It was on the best little lot and had so much character.
By By Georgia, Hello Louisiana!

After driving about 8 and half hours, we finally made it! I was so glad to get out of that car you have no idea!!
When we first arrived we checked into our hotel and then loaded up to see our first glances of our apartment. I am going to do my next blog post of a tour of our crib:)

Then we decided to hit the town. Chris and I decided to take the parents to our favorite part of New Orleans, the French Market. We had so much fun taking in all the character than New Orleans has to offer!

This is a very far away picture of a wedding they were having. I know you can't see in the picture but the bride was beautiful and all the groomsmen were in coats with tails! I can't imagine how much this wedding probably cost!

We have learned quickly that New Orleans really loves their VooDoo. There are lots of shops specializing in VooDoo apparel. My mom had to have her picture taken with this guy!

This was such a cute water fountain with a statue of some guys playing Jazz music. I just had to have my picture made with it!

We walked right up to the side of the Mighty Mississippi River! Man was it full! If you have been following in the news lately you will have heard about how the Mississippi has been flooding. Luckily they think that New Orleans is gonna be fine!

We took a lot of pictures at the Mississippi!

While we were sittin for a quick rest, this strange fellow walked up and started telling us joke and ended up shinning Chris and Daddys shoes! It is really a funny story that you really need to ask Chris's dad, Gary, about!! haha

This is a riverboat! Before we leave I want to go on one of these things:)

This guy was a street performer. We actually saw a lot of street performers. I love stopping and watching what they are going to do. The guy in this picture would make himself into a human statue. He had just taken his silver jacket off and stopped being a statue when I took this picture. It was amazing how these guys would stand so still! They really looked like they were maid of stone!

Ok to end this long blog post I wanted to share the coolest thing! The girls decided to take a trip to the two story Target down the road to pick up some stuff for our apartment. In order to go between the levels you had to take escalators. They actually had escalators for your buggy as well. It was just the neatest thing!!

We are really having a blast! Our apartment it just so adorable! I can't wait for every single one of yall to come and visit us in the Big Easy!!

What I'll Miss Most

Tonight Chris and I made the rounds of visiting some of our family members. We made sure to stop by to see Megan, Brandon, and Blake.

At Megan's house we talked and joked. Paula and Megan made Chris some peanut butter balls! They are delicious:) They make the best!

At Brandon and Blake's house we played games in the front yard, jumped on the trampoline, and threw a baseball back and forth!

When I think about moving to New Orleans I get so excited, but I have to admit that what I will miss most are these kiddos!

We love them so much! I am gonna miss just having to drive down the road, when we are bored, to get some entertainment from them! I am gonna miss getting to go to their ball games and cheering them on! I am gonna miss Chris and them wrestling in the floor or tickle fighting. I am gonna miss their funny jokes and entertaining stories!

Blake informed us that when we are finished with school and come back he will be 12! When Chris and I first started dating he was just 4 and just a little bitty guy! This just amazes me! Megan is going into middle school next year! Paula and Tony better watch out cause they are gonna have to start beatin the boys off with a stick!

Brandon is a stud with his six pack abs, Blake is a hoot with his never dull personality, and Megan is the prettiest girl in the whole county!

Face Lift

I have become quite addicted to blogs. I have found that several of my girlfriends from college have blogs and I love reading them.

After looking at some of theirs I realized that ours really needed a face lift.
So..... I spent seriously about 2 hours this afternoon trying to figure it out!

I had to cut, paste, edit, uncut, re paste.... it was ridiculous!
Finally we have the end result, and I think it looks cute!

Chris told me he thought it looked too girly, but who cares what he thinks anyway:)

The End is Near

In the news lately, there is a group of so called Christian Activists who have found a secret code in the Bible that is marking the end of times to be Saturday, May 21, 2010.
These people actually believe that tomorrow is the day that those glorious trumpets will sound, and Christ will be riding in on his chariot, calling all his children home.
"No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Matthew 24: 36
So, maybe I am wrong, but when I read Matthew 24:36 I interpret it as follows, no one; no man, no woman, no genius person who can find some 'magical, secretive code', knows the day of the second coming. In this verse it even says, “nor the Son.” The son, meaning Jesus. Jesus does not even know the day. Only the father knows the day.
I have a problem with these so called Christian Activists. If they were truly Christians then they would have faith and believe every part of the bible, including this verse. I can’t  seem to be able to wrap my head around why these people think that they are worthy to know the day of the second coming when it says that even the Son doesn’t know it.
As with everything, we have to take the good with the bad. No, I do not think Saturday is going to be Judgment day, but these people are making a lot of publicity. They are opening minds and reminding people that Judgment day is coming. They are sharing the message of Christ. There are people out there who are listening and maybe deciding that they too need to prepare themselves spiritually for this glorious day.
"When we engage in this kind of wild speculation, it's irresponsible," said the Rev. Daniel Akin, president of the Southeastern Baptist Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. "It can do damage to naive believers who can be easily caught up and it runs the risk of causing the church to receive sort of a black eye."
We should all be preparing every day, because we never know when our last moments on this Earth may be. I hope that God has a sense of humor, that he is able to laugh at this and have mercy. I also hope and pray that this is not a ‘black eye’ on the church and that people are able to not pay too much attention to these predictions.

Yikes!

I am a total clean freak, expecially with our trailor. I like for things to be in their place and for clutter, uhhh.. to be non existant.
Right now, I am sitting in the sofa in our living room and the view is CRAZY!!

You can see we have got boxes with our kitchen utencials and various items packed.  I HATE seeing kitchen utencials in the boxes because I feel like they are getting dusty and germy!
As you can see everything is a mess!!  There is no room to even walk.  How in the world are we going to fit all of these things in our apartment, good thing we got upgraded to the bigger space! The big TV is definatly NOT going.  That thing is way too heavy and no one wants to carry it up stairs. (Meaning Chris doesn't want to carry it)

Only ONE WEEK!!!! WHOOP WHOOP

STRONGER

I have a NEW FAVORITE SONG!! I love Mandisa and this song is great! It has such a wonderful upbeat sound!

If you see a girl with her windows down, pony tail flying, rocking out to this song at the top of her lungs cruisin' through Cumming, chances are its me!

Going Out with A Bang

Last night our families threw Christopher and I a great going away bash. It allowed us to make sure that we said good by to all the most important people to us, our family, before we left.

We enjoyed good food and great company. Everyone seemed to really be having a good time cutting up.
We also celebrated Chris's Great-Grandmother, Elvira, 96 Birthday. I asked her, "When you were a little, tiny girl, did you ever
think you would make it to 96?"
She replied, "Nope, but I guess I'd try."
She is truly an inspiration to me. She is defiantly the matriarch of this family and we all love her dearly.

Logan was defiantly the star of the show. He is absolutely adorable. I can only hope and pray that one day Chris and I are blessed to have a child as sweet and cute as he is!
Susan, Sara, and Josh were all so sweet! I loved getting to talk to Sara and Marybeth about MB's upcoming wedding in December. She is going to make such a beautiful bride!

Here are some random pictures that I also took! I have deemed myself as the new Picture Nazi. When you see me walkin around with my little camera, you better look out, cause chances are, you gonna wind up on here!!

If you aint never head of this before than you better listen up. The pictures from above are actual canned red velvet cake! They are baked, iced, and ready to be eaten! Nana (Lorraine) gave these to us for our trip. Chris loves red velvet cake. I HAVE NEVER seen this done before! She actually pours the batter and the icing into the jar and then bakes it! She then snaps the lids and they are ready! These babies will last for about 3 months!
Um.... lets just say, Yes-in-Deedee!!

Christophers aunt, Myra, is a couponing expert. She has tried to teach me her marvelous ways of saving money and getting groceries for next to nothing. She gave us a big home depot box field with the essentials; toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and laundry detergent were all included.

We are truly blessed by all of our wonderful family!
