Ready

I am ready for my sweet parents to get here!

Ahhh.... how I miss them!!
They are getting here late tonight,
so today I am cleaning and cleaning and cleaning.

Tomorrow we are going to eat brunch at NOLA's "best" place for brunch and the going on a cemetery tour.

I have never actually eaten brunch before! It just sounds too fancy for this country girl! But it should be a fun new experience.

Excited for them to get here!!

Update

I got a phone call from my mama today
(actually I think I called her... but anyways)

and she asked me if I really ate the craw fish!!

I mean.... come on!! Now peeps
I am a NOLA girl, Cajun seasoning, bridge driving, Pontchartrain diving, gator wrestlin, catfish eatin'.....

haha noo way I am far from being a NOLA girl!!!!
This chicka is a GA peach all the way:)

but yes, yes,

I ate the crawfish and they were yummy!

In fact I ate almost my entire plate of those babies! The spices and seasoning were soo good. I liked the craw fish but I LOOOVED the corn and potatoes! Those were the best!

Right now I am on Spring Break!

Can I get a Whoop Whoop!!

Today I kick started my spring break by doing school work,
yea yea I am just a nerd by doing work on my first day of break, but hey I got it done and now don't have to worry about it anymore and can enjoy my days off.

It was so nice being home, I think Chris is a little jealous of me right now cause he has to go to his classes.
He only has 2 and a half weeks left for this semester, so he is on the home stretch of his work right now:)

Crawfish

Yes, this here is my first plate of crawfish ever!
My initial reaction was
WOAH!! I will NEVER eat all that!

It is a ton of craw fish.
Then I learned that you really don't get that much meat out of them at all!

The little suckers sure were scary looking.
They had their claws, eyeballs, and pointy whiskers still intact.

I was staring this fellow down.
Givin 'em the old evil eye.

Then I broke off his tail and ate him up!

I liked them! They were very spicy and my lips burned that whole night!
Best part to me though was the corn and potatoes! They were the bomb!

Well lookie There!

Hummm.... seams like we just couldn't get rid of this Red Machine!

Chris loves his truck. He considers it his man zone.
Whenever I enter, I must enter with caution.

No earrings or bracelets may be left its cup holders,
no lingering perfume spell can be contained in,
no makeup smears on the sun visor,
and absolutely no, NOOOO, spilled purse contents left remaining on this floor board.

For the past year we have been trying to sell this baby,
but odds were not in our favor.
Instead, Chris is one very happy dude,
cause he gets to keep it!
So GLAD we have two cars now!!

Peas and Carrots

Last night Delanie and I had some much needed girl time out on Magazine Street.

We are just like peas and carrots together!
(thanks forest gump!)

Delanie and I are so much a like!
-both of us are first year teachers and learning to adapt to the problems that come with the job
-both are here while our hubbs are in school
-both are the women workin' to provide for our families
-both of us have a silly sense of humor
-both LOVE our families back at home and MISS them like crazy
-both of us are dog lovers
-both of us are a little CRAZY
-both of us have similar childhood stories

The list can go on and on.
She is seriously just like me, sometimes it is a little weird how our lives are so similar!

Last night we went out and ate Mexican!
I had seriously gone way toooooo long without eating some chips and salsa and it was soooo good.

Then we went walking thought some old antique stores and found a "Free Peyton" shirt for her husband.
(Free Peyton is a New Orleans Football Thing)

We then went to goodwill and a dollar general.

I wish I had taken a picture of us together last night to post on here!

Anyhoo... spending some girls time was just what I needed!

Thanks Delanine for being such a good friend and thanks Eric for sharing your sweet wife with me on yall's Friday night!

Miss Independent

So my sweet husband is gone off into the woodlands of North Georgia for the next 2 nights.
Leaving me all by my lonesome.
Actually I am enjoying some solitude tonight.
I have been able to have some 'me' time.

I got subway for dinner,
had control of the remote,
painted my toe nails,
and did some laundry.

It was nice!

When I walked in the door after work
Chris had left me little notes all throughout the apartment.

I grabbed my phone and took pictures of some of them!

He even put some on the toilet, reminding me to flush,
one on my computer to be silly,
several on my mirror.

The funniest thing to me was most of them were reminders. He was trying to make sure I don't forget anything.
Now isn't he just a sweetie!

I am truly blessed!

I am grateful for this time to myself and to get some things done,
but I will be glad he will be home on Saturday.

Something about thinking how I am 3 states away from anyone of my family bothers me,
so I just am trying not to think about it!

Excited to have the whole bed to stretch out on to myself tonight,
and for a Friday night girls out with Delaine tomorrow!

Crucifixion

Every Wednesday morning my school has chapel. It is like a little 'kid' centered church service.
All elementary grades 1-4 meet together to pray, sing worship, and our youth minister will usually do a cute devotion using puppets or various props.
Today's chapel was different in honor of Easter.
We watched a video on the Crucifixion of Christ,
as told by children.
It was NOT a cartoon but a REAL movie,
and it was AWESOME!!
I do not know the name of the movie but I totally am going to find out!! It was perfect for kids and went through the life of Jesus from birth to raising from the grave.
Anyhoo... I wrote all that to get to this part.
As the Crucifixion scene was playing out, one on my sweet first grade girls started softly crying.
I motioned for her to come to me and she ended up sitting in my lap with me smoothing her hair away from her face.
She was so upset and didn't understand why they were hurting Jesus. I merely uttered a few kind words and kept tell her to just keep watching for the best part was coming soon.
Now here is the tear jerker part....
After Jesus was raised from the dead he proved to his disciples that he really was the son of God and told them all to look at the scars on his hands and his feet.
Then the sweetest, littlest face looked up to me,
sitting in my lap,
with the most precious tears coming out of each corner of her eyes,
and held up little pure her hands and said these exact words,
"but... Mrs. Bagley, I don't have any scars on my hands"
at that moment we both just cried together. I hugged and rocked her. I told her, "I know, I don't have any scars either."
After the movie was over I did my best to explain that we both deserve those scars, but we don't have them because Jesus took them for us. He took our punishment, when he had done nothing wrong.
That sweet little girl did not give her heart over to Jesus today. I didn't want to pressure her into it, and in fact, I didn't feel like I needed to even ask her if she wanted to pray. I felt like her time of understanding was going to be coming soon.
I was so blessed today to watch a Crucifixion story of Jesus through a child's eyes, and with such sweetness and pureness to see it in awe and wonder:)

Girls Weekend

This past weekend I was living it up in Panama City with my home girl Amanda!

Amanda was my maid of honor in my wedding!

I can't wait to post some more pictures of us gals,
the one above I stole of one of their face book pages, it is actual me and Shay, Amanda's future sister in law!

We had so much fun doing what girls do best:
-shopping
-eating
-laughing
-laying in the sun
- and people watching

Since it is Spring Break down at the beach, we were amazed at how all the 'kids' around us were acting.
It was the first time I have ever been at Panama City during Spring Break, and let's just say it was interesting.

So interesting that we turned our beach chairs around, NOT facing the water but facing the other direction, just so we could watch all the idiots around us!

I had a great weekend and got some much needed sun.
In fact I am a little burnt on my nose and I know it is just going to peel! YUCK!!
